Banana

So, my friend and I have a lot of free time, apparently. This is the result.

Octofreud

If you're wondering, my idea for the piece is that a giant "Octofreud," or "Freudopus," if you will, is being hunted by the young boy who must claim his beard as a rite of passage into manhood. It's all very psychological. Kudos to my pal Melissa for her paint job on this piece!

So little sleep, so little animation...

Believe it or not, this film took 10 weeks to produce and, by the last few weeks before screening, I was sleeping only a few hours a day - if at all. I learned a lot thanks to my classmates and feel more prepared for an actual film next year. The film is a tiny surreal tribute to my former town in Japan, Warabi. Some info that could help you sort the film out a little more is that "warabi" translates to "fern" or "bracken" in English and the character with all the bunny rabbits is supposed to be the moon. Other than that, interpret as you wish. PS - sorry about the small video size, it kind of loses some of the details that some of you who also lived in Warabi, might recognize. I'd be happy to send a quicktime to anyone who wants it.

Robo Dance!

This is going waaaay back to a film tools class. The task was to cobble together a meaningful short from found footage. As you can see, I failed at that. I did however succeed at making something loud and obnoxious.

Giant Killer Japanese Hornets...

This is my very first animation at skewl. It was inspired by the aforementioned giant hornets buzzing around during the Japanese summers. I used very simple black paper cutouts, the antique animation stands and lots of patience.
